DAY FOR NIGHT evolved from a multi-year series of conversations between Kyle and Raphael Villet of PLAY/PRESS, when they shared studio space together in Oakland. The title references the film technique whereby daytime shots are reproduced as the illusion of nighttime. The drawings are a series of hand-drawn grids on paper where minor variations in line width and frequency create varied landscapes, with a wide range range of feeling and depth. Each facing page meets its opposite self, in reflection of shadow and light.
